Goodman Acker Teams Up With State Representative Jeremy Moss to Coordinate
Collection Drive For Flint Residents
Flint, Michigan is in a state of emergency. For over 18 months its residents
have been drinking contaminated water with toxic levels of lead. The City
of Flint is experiencing one of the worst crisis to hit a Michigan City
in the last 40 years. Children and adults alike are suffering the short
term and potential lifelong impact of being poisoned by lead in their water.
Goodman Acker has a strong commitment to our community and is taking action
to help the residents of Flint. Our personal injury law firm is teaming
up with State Representative Jeremy Moss (D-Southfield) to host a collection
drive of goods needed in Flint this week, Monday January 25th through Thursday, January 28th.
The Law Offices of Goodman Acker is collecting bottles and/or jugs of water
along with non-mixing baby formula. Collections will be accepted at Goodman
Acker’s offices located at 17000 W 10 Mile Road, 2nd Floor in Southfield between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
State Representative Moss has also coordinated efforts with the City of
Southfield which will be a drop-off point, at the Southfield Public Library
located at 26300 Evergreen between 10 Mile Road and 11 Mile Road, 1-9
p.m. on Monday and Wednesday and 9:30-5:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.
Last day of donations will be accepted on Thursday at 5 p.m. All donations
and supplies collected will be delivered to the residents of Flint on
Thursday, January 28th by Goodman Acker Attorney, Jordan Acker and State Representative Moss.
Jerry Acker, senior partner at Goodman Acker PC stated, “Goodman
Acker has been committed for more than 30 years to provide assistance
to those in need and now, the people of Flint need all of us to lend a
hand. We are proud to partner with State Representative Moss and we are
kicking off the collection process by providing more than 3200 bottles
of water and other supplies”.
Moss added, “This is a wonderful example of how government can work
with the private sector and I know the good people of Southfield and surrounding
communities want to help the City of Flint”.
