Raised by two hard working parents, diligence, discipline, and caring for
others were instilled in Larry Maitland at a very early age. He took these
characteristics and applied them to his education. Maitland was the first
person in his family to graduate college and then went on to put himself
through law school. Growing up, he was drawn to the practice of law and
the ability to utilize it to help others.
When he was younger, he witnessed a number of instances in which family

representation to all individuals, no matter their position in society.
Maitland graduated with two bachelor's degrees from Purdue University
with honors in 1999. He rowed for Purdue's crew team, was a member
of several leadership fraternities, and served in student government.
He then earned his Juris Doctorate at Southern Illinois University School
of Law in 2002. At Southern Illinois, he was elected to serve as vice-president
of the law school for two of his three years. In addition to being admitted
to various state and federal courts, he was admitted to the bar of the
Supreme Court of the United States in January 2014.
