Detroit Personal Injury Lawyers Fighting For The Injured

Goodman Acker Attorney Ronita Bahri Named To Michigan Lawyers Weekly 'Up And Coming Class Of 2017'

We are proud to announce that Ronita Bahri, associate attorney at Goodman Acker, has received the ‘Up and Coming Lawyers Award Class of 2017’ from Michigan Lawyers Weekly. This award recognizes legal practitioners who are establishing a name for themselves, go above and beyond, and display the ambition, drive, determination and accomplishments that set them apart among their peers – in their first 10 years of practice. Only a select few of legal practitioners are chosen every year.

Bahri was honored with the award on Thursday, December 7th at the Detroit Marriott in Troy.

Bahri came to the United States as a refugee with her family at the young age of eight from Iraq. She knew at a very young age she wanted to go to college and serve the community.

Bahri was the first in her family to go to college and earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco, School of Law in 2014.

In 2015, Bahri joined our team, focusing on personal injury and no-fault insurance litigation. Prior to Goodman Acker, Bahri worked as a legal and policy associate at Michigan Community Resources in Detroit assisting start-up nonprofit organizations.

Serving the community is still important to Bahri. She is a member of the Chaldean American Bar Association and the Michigan Association for Justice. Bahri is also Funding and Government Relations Director for the Shlama Foundation. The Shlama Foundation was created to help aide families who have fled their homeland after ISIS forced their evacuation.

Additionally, Bahri is one of the pro-bono attorneys with CODE Legal Air, a non-profit organization, helping to halt the deportation of hardens, after the June 10th round up by ICE agents this year.

“I am honored to receive this designation, as it reinforces my dedication to provide the best possible service to my clients. My success derives from the opportunity to serve people in my community, and for that I am grateful. For me, this is just the beginning,” says Bahri.
