The Goodman Acker P.C. team is proud to announce that our founding partner, Attorney Barry Goodman, was honored by the State Bar of Michigan with the Distinguished Service Award!

To be recognized as a Distinguished Service Award honoree, an attorney must exhibit excellence in law throughout their career, for at least 20 years or more. The characteristics that a Distinguished Service Award winner must exude include a commitment to ethical principles and an overall dedication to quality. Honorees must have used their time as an attorney to develop the legal areas of personal injury and negligence law. Additionally, award winners must be regarded by their peers as a lawyer who exhibits these principles.

Attorney Goodman’s career is evident of the qualities that the Distinguished Service Award represents. He is a tireless advocate for injury victims. He has recovered millions of dollars in compensation for people impacted by negligence. In addition to his legal practice, Attorney Goodman has worked with multiple government officials, is a member of the Democratic National Committee, and is an officer of the Michigan Democratic Party. He is a former president of the Michigan Association for Justice and a past chair of the Negligence Section of the State Bar of Michigan. His past honors include being recognized as a Super Lawyer, a “Leader in Law” by the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association, and one of The National Trial Lawyers’ Top 100 Personal Injury Lawyers of 2019.

The Distinguished Service Award is typically presented during an annual ceremony; however, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the awards event was held via Zoom. This year, award winners and members of the State Bar of Michigan met virtually on August 13th for a ceremony hosted by WLNS news anchor Sheri Jones. Congratulations to Attorney Goodman on this prestigious honor!
