Barry Goodman continues his tradition of clowning around at America’s Thanksgiving Parade

Barry Goodman, Attorney and Partner of the Southfield personal injury law firm of Goodman Acker, P.C, continued his tradition of giving back to the city of Detroit at America’s Thanksgiving Parade. For the fourth consecutive year, Goodman dressed up as a clown and walked down Woodward Avenue as part of the Distinguished Clown Corps.

Over the years, Attorney Barry Goodman knew of other men who gave of their time in the parade’s Distinguished Clown Corps and felt it was time to give back to the city he is so passionate about.

The Distinguished Clown Corps is a by invitation-only privilege that carries a required donation to support the Michigan Thanksgiving Parade Foundation (The Parade Company). The purpose of the organization to stage and perpetuate America’s Thanksgiving Parade ensuring that the parade remains a vital part of Detroit’s cultural community.

"I am privileged in the name of philanthropy to walk down Woodward Avenue dressed as a clown and hand out thousands of beads to the children of Detroit. Excitement, entertainment and exercise. Does not get better than that," said Goodman.

Goodman vowed in 2014 to continue to be a clown each year providing he is healthy enough to brave the cold and walk the 3 - 4 miles, and he did just that.
