Our Detroit auto accident attorneys report that four Michigan cities listed as having the safest drivers in U.S. Every year, since 2005, Allstate has compiled a list of top cities throughout the United States that follow the safest driving practices. They call the report "American's Best Drivers Report." The report identifies which of the 200 largest U.S. cities has the safest drivers.

Information is compiled by tabulating property damage collision frequency of Allstate insured drivers and analyzation of the 200 largest cities from the U.S. Census Bureau's Annual Estimates of Population for Incorporated Places over 50,000.

The auto accident lawyers at Goodman Acker P.C. are pleased to announce that a few cities in Michigan did make the list! If you currently live in the City of Detroit, Warren, Sterling Heights or Grand Rapids, we applaud your good driving habits.

According to this report, these four Michigan cities ranked as follows for being the safest drivers:

  • Detroit - 104

  • Grand Rapids - 116

  • Warren - 124

  • Sterling Heights - 164

"Seeing that Detroit was the number one city in Michigan for best drivers may shock many. As much as we would like to believe this report is true, we must also remember that more than 50% of Detroit drivers do not have auto insurance, therefore many accidents in Detroit most likely do not get reported to the insurance company," says car accident lawyer and partner of Goodman Acker P.C., Barry Goodman.

"However, even with that factor, we should still be proud of the fact that some of our cities did make the list and encourage all communities to practice safe driving habits. This includes always wearing you seat belt, never texting while behind the wheel, eating while driving, and more."
