Goodman Acker, P.C. is extremely proud to celebrate our 25th anniversary in business as a personal injury law firm. We truly appreciate the support of our community and the opportunity to help so many people in Detroit and the State of Michigan throughout the years and for years to come.
Goodman Acker, P.C. will be celebrating throughout the year in various ways, including a new logo, a new TV ad, and community outreach. We would also like to celebrate by highlighting some of the major milestones of the personal injury firm.
1994: Goodman Acker, P.C. was formed. The law firm handled all types of personal injury accident matters and workers compensation claims. The firm was founded by three equal partners, two of which are still managing the firm today – Barry Goodman and Gerald Acker. Goodman & Acker met on a basketball court at the Jewish Community Center about 14 years prior where they became good friends and eventually business partners. Both Goodman and Acker were self-made and worked tirelessly to build the firm up. The firm was located in a suite on Northwestern Highway in Southfield.
1996: The law office purchased and moved into the building we are located at today – 17000 W. 10 Mile Road, Southfield, Michigan.
1998: Goodman Acker, P.C. dropped its worker compensation practice and decided to concentrate solely on personal injury matters. The firm consisted of both Goodman and Acker, two associates, two secretaries, and one receptionist.
1999-2000: Barry Goodman was voted president of the Michigan Association of Justice’s (MAJ) leadership team. The Michigan Association of Justice, governed by an executive board of approximately 90 members and five officers, is a non-profit membership organization dedicated to furthering civil justice and access to the courts for the people of the State of Michigan.
