Our client, who is a 40-year old mother to six children and professional entrepreneur, came to a complete stop, as mandated by traffic signals at the time, while traveling westbound on the I-96 Expressway near Outer Drive West. The defendant crashed directly into our client’s vehicle from behind. He did not appear to try to slow his vehicle at all before the collision. It was found by police investigators later that he was intoxicated while behind the wheel.
It is expected that evidence of the defendant’s intoxication will hold true in court and full liability will be placed upon him due to this gross negligence. Alongside the notes of his inebriation at the time of the accident, we have provided ample and reasonable evidence to the defendant in request of payment. He has since denied such liability, and this lawsuit became necessary to pursue justice and compensation for our client.
Extent of Injuries & Compensation Needed
Our client suffered dramatic and extensive injuries across her body as a direct result of the collision. Diagnoses concluded that she suffered, at least, damage to head, neck, shoulders, arms, elbows, wrists, hands, spinal discs, hips, knees, ankles, and feet. Daily life has become extremely painful for our client. She has also experienced moments of significant memory loss due to head injury.
We have filed this lawsuit in Wayne County Circuit Court against the defendant in pursuit of any and all forms of owed damages, specifically those related to emotional trauma. We have also filed a first-party lawsuit against the defendant’s insurance company for all no-fault personal insurance protection (PIP) benefits, as applicable and relevant under the No Fault Act. Overall, our client deserves compensation to pay for her medical bills, special and attendant care, lost wages, pain and suffering, and replacement services, as well as any interest amounts, additional costs, and attorney fees.
