The Michigan personal injury law firm of Goodman Acker P.C. is honored to announce that they recently received the ‘American Patriot’ award from the Michigan Veterans Foundation (MVF).
Executive Director of the MVF, Tyrone Chatman, presented the award to the senior partners of Goodman Acker, Barry Goodman and Gerald Acker, and thanked all Goodman Acker lawyers and staff for their help and efforts in trying to eliminate homelessness among our Detroit Veterans.
On Veterans Day, the Southfield personal injury law firm held a ‘Caring For Our Homeless Veterans Benefit’ at Detroit Tough Gym in Corktown. The benefit was a collection drive/walk-run where community members could donate gently used or new items and walk/run to deliver those items to Veterans in need.
The event proved to be a huge success collecting over eight truckloads of clothing, coats, blankets, shoes, business suits, disposable goods and more for Detroit’s homeless Veterans. In addition, the attorneys raised over $2,000.00 in monetary funds that went to the MVF.
This award truly is an honor to receive and Goodman Acker P.C. is so pleased to help our heroic Veterans. The American Patriot Award is given to those exceptional Americans who have demonstrated a profound and abiding love of country who whose inspirational leadership and selfless dedication symbolize the nation’s ideals, values and democratic principles.
“We are deeply humbled and honored by the American Patriot award presented by the Michigan Veterans Foundation. Jerry and I believe the only true patriots are those who currently or have served our country protecting us around the clock while we go about our daily lives. Whatever we can do to transition their life back home to one befitting to returning heroes is what we strive for each and every day,” says Barry Goodman.
