The 2019 Autism Hero Walk took place at the Detroit Zoo on July 28th, and was free to any who wished to participate in the activities. All funds raised for the event went directly to the Autism Alliance of Michigan (AAoM), which is one of the leading voices for autism awareness in our state.
About Autism Alliance of Michigan
AAoM is a well-respected charitable organization that aims to help people with autism lead lives full of meaning and purpose. By creating a strong community for those with ASD, as well as providing employment and living resources for affected families, the team at AAoM seeks to raise expectations for those who fall onto the spectrum of autism disorders.
As an active member of AAoM, Kassondra is passionate about raising support for those who have autism. Generating nearly $500 for the Autism Hero Walk on her fundraising page, Kassondra’s efforts inspired us to sponsor this event, and offer our own resources and time to the cause. Many thanks to her for organizing around this effort, and to the advocates and educators at AAoM for hosting a successful event!
