Michael Turner of Michigan personal injury law firm, Goodman Acker, P.C., received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2024. He was raised in Metro Detroit, by a union family—mainly, UAW autoworkers. In 2021, Michael became the first in his family to receive a bachelor’s degree, graduating from Occidental College in Los Angeles, California, where he majored in Comparative Studies in Literature and Culture.
Prior to joining Goodman Acker, Michael worked in New York City in two commercial litigation roles. First, he was a law clerk at Brown Rudnick LLP, where he worked on creditor-side bankruptcy matters, primarily involving mass tort claimants. Then, he was an associate at Cravath, Swaine and Moore LLP, where he gained experience in antitrust litigation, trust & estates disputes and pre-litigation advising involving complex intellectual property negotiations. Before law school, Michael worked as a campaign and legislative aide to State Senator Erika Geiss, who has been a great mentor at every step of his career.
Michael will work with Mark Brewer as an associate in the Firm’s union-side labor, election, and non-profit law practice.
