Goodman Acker P.C. is representing four people who were involved in a tragic car accident early this April. The victims in the crash involved a 20-year old man, Zachary Garrison, and his 20-year-old girlfriend, Angel Careathers, both of whom were killed in the collision. Two passengers in the back seat, Angel’s sister Krystal, a 16-year-old, and Zachary’s sister Mesiah, 18-year-old, were seriously injured.

The accident took place at Peterson Playfield, a park located at the intersection of Whitcomb and Pickford Road in Detroit, Michigan. Garrison and Careathers, along with their sisters were sitting in Garrison’s car at the park. Robert Chaney, an engineer at GM, was speeding down Pickford Road when he lost control of his vehicle, ran off the road, struck a curb and went airborne crashing into Garrison’s vehicle.

Chaney was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence causing death.

Barry Goodman, Senior Partner at Goodman Acker, is representing the victims’ families against Chaney.

“We are in the business of helping families rebuild their lives. Although there is no amount of money that will ever make up for the loss of their loved ones, we will make sure that Chaney is held responsible for his actions, not only financially but criminally so that justice may be served,” says Goodman.

Goodman and the parents of the young couple were recently interviewed on WXYZ Detroit. This is the first time the parents have spoken out after the crash. Watch the exclusive video here:
